People really want to know how to find a job in a tough economy and make more money.  First I’ll tell you how not to get a job – sitting on your computer all day and applying to the same jobs thousands of other people are applying to online.  If you’re searching Google or Yahoo for a job, you’re lost and I’m 92% sure you’re not going to get a job searching online.

What you need to do is crack open that phone book and just start going down the line.  An alternative is just visiting small businesses without all the bureaucratic job application processes and asking about getting hired.  Sometimes you just have to make a job.

To get a job, all you have to do is convince the business owner that you can make them more money than they will pay you.  Trust me, if you can do that, then they will hire you.

When you talk to the business owner, you want to make sure to be fully confident in your abilities.  To actually be able to be that confident, you probably should be familiar with what you’re applying to.  For example, if you’re a shoe freak and you know shoes well, then it’s easy to see how you could be a great shoe salesman or saleswoman.

This is how you get a job in a tough economy people.  Don’t just apply to jobs with thousands of applications all day.  You’re wasting your time.

The economy is bad but don’t let that be an excuse for why you don’t get a job. Work smart and persevere.
