How Do Bloggers Make Money? The Truth and Math Behind Blogging for Cash
Did you know that if you make $50 a day, that’s $18,250 a year? This simple fact is what drove me to be a blogger and blog for money. My thinking was, hey, I can make $50 a day online. Hell, I thought I could make $10/day from 1 blog pretty easily. Was that ever wrong.
If you’re a beginner starting out, blogging is a lot harder than it looks and sounds. At least blogging to make actual living money – which is what I do. At first, I thought I could just start a blog, slap on a few ads and let the money roll in. Didn’t work that way. See the thing was, I didn’t quite know what I was doing. Actually, I alot didn’t know what I was doing.
Once I did figure out how the system worked, I began to make more and more money. I started at $1-$3 bucks a day. Then the income just kept rising. At first it was sorta by accident. I didn’t even know why the sites were getting the traffic they were. But the good thing is I did see the potential in it. I was thinking, hey if this site is making me $1 a day, then if I build another site like it, I could have another $1 per day site. That’s $60/month coming from just two sites.
Some people just make one primary blog and make their money from that. I, on the other hand, made a bunch of very specialized targeted blogs that focused on different stuff. I learned a lot from this guy name Griz. Griz is sort of an Internet Marketing king. Wait, Griz is the Internet Marketing King. I learned the most about blogging for money and how to figure out stuff in general from Griz. Griz has no idea but he made a huge impact on me. The biggest lesson he taught me is to figure out stuff for yourself and that lesson has made me the most of anything I’ve learned on the Internet.
Believe me, I’ve bought, tried, and listened to a lot of online products, ebooks, and podcasts but the most valuable information I’ve got is from Griz. I actually befriended him on Facebook. Haha kind of funny.
Anyways, back to blogging for money. If you want to make money blogging, set up a chart of about 6 sites and try to make $15 a month with each by the third month of their existence. You don’t want to make any money from them during the first and second month. This sounds wierd, I know, but trust me, blogs aren’t meant to make money right away. You’d rather wait a month or two for them to settle into Google.
6 blogs X $15 = $90 in one month. For month four, try to increase that total by 50% to $135. Same for month 5 to $180. If you can accomplish that you will have some super spectacular income producing blogs. If I were a beginner to blogging, I’d only focus on creating and grooming 6 blogs to harvest income from.
This timeline may be off. One thing I’ve noticed about Google is it’s taking longer for new sites to get recognized and ranked higher. For example, it might be that you have to wait 6 months before you see any significant ranking. This is ok – as long as you see the site is ranking for some stuff in Google – like it’s domain name or uncompetitive terms.
Old sites are big time with Google so make sure to start now and be patient (or buy an already existing site) and just blog away at it. I recommend picking some topics you have interest in (not sports) because I can honestly tell you that it gets hard to write about some stuff after awhile.
I just keep plugging away. My goal is to get to $500 one day. Start now and just aim to make $6 a day by your third month of blogging from your 6 sites. It adds up. Believe me, it adds up.
