Terms of Service
Last updated July 13, 2026 · Closed beta
The short version
IWM is a marketplace where neighbors post small, legal, same-day jobs and other neighbors do them for money. We connect people — we are not a party to any job, we don't employ workers, and during the closed beta we don't process payments. These are plain-language beta terms; they will be refined with counsel before public launch.
1. Who can use IWM
You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract. You sign in with a verified email address. One account per person; accounts are personal and non-transferable.
2. What IWM is (and is not)
- IWM is a neutral venue. Posters and workers contract directly with each other; workers are independent — nothing here creates employment, agency, or partnership with IWM or between users beyond the job they agree to.
- Payments happen outside the platform during the beta. You and your counterpart agree on payment (cash, Venmo, Zelle, etc.) and settle directly. IWM holds no funds, takes no fee, and cannot reverse or guarantee payments.
- IWM does not vet, supervise, or insure jobs or users beyond the trust features visible in the product (computed reputation, double-blind reviews, content screening, moderation).
3. Your responsibilities
- Follow the Community Guidelines — they are part of these terms. Prohibited jobs are blocked or removed, and posting them can lead to suspension.
- Only accept work you are qualified — and legally allowed — to do. Some work requires a license or insurance; hiring or performing such work unlicensed is between you and the law.
- Provide accurate information, honor the jobs you accept or post, and treat people the way the reviews system will remember.
4. Content and reviews
You own what you write. By posting, you give IWM a license to display it in the product (job posts, profiles, reviews). Reviews are double-blind and publish only after both sides submit or a time limit passes; reviews must reflect a genuine experience on a real job.
5. Screening, moderation, and enforcement
Job posts are screened automatically at creation; clearly prohibited jobs are blocked and high-risk jobs may be held for human review before publishing. Users can report jobs and profiles. Moderators can remove content, pause auto-confirmation during disputes, and suspend accounts with a recorded reason. Suspended users are told why and can no longer post, apply, or manage jobs. Safety-relevant records are preserved per our incident procedures, and we comply with valid legal process.
6. Beta disclaimer and liability
The service is provided as-is during a closed beta: features change, bugs exist, and availability isn't guaranteed. To the extent permitted by law, IWM is not liable for what happens on or around a job — including non-payment, no-shows, property damage, or personal injury. Meet strangers the smart way: public places, tell someone your plans, trust the reputation signals.
7. Ending or changing things
You can stop using IWM at any time. We can suspend accounts that break these terms (you'll be told why) and can update these terms as the beta evolves — material changes will be announced in the product before they take effect.
8. Contact
Questions, appeals, or legal notices: contact the team through the in-app report system or the beta contact channel you were invited through. See also the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.
